Apparatus used in water damage recovery

When your property has become the victim to water damage, you may be worried that everything has been damaged beyond repair, but that is not always the case. In a large percentage of the cases of water or flood damage a lot of remedial work can be undertook in order to eradicate the property of all of the water.

The first main item of equipment that is essential in any water restoration project is a flood water pump. This item is crucial and a must have if you need to remove large amounts of water as it is capable of extracting in excess of 1700 gallons of water every single hour, which is roughly around 30 gallons each and every minute. These types of pumps come equipped with a basket that is capable of collecting large items of debris and the sludge as it is collected during pumping, this can then be disposed of at a later time.

Next up and in order to avoid mold and mildew growth, the next step is to remove the excess moisture in the air and this is accomplished by using a dehumidifier. These machines can extract significant amounts of moisture from the surrounding atmosphere, although they only work to maximum efficiency in an enclosed space.

In order to fully remove the water from the air after a recent flood then you will need carpet blowing dryers, these pieces of equipment usually have three speeds and combined with a dehumidifiers, they will soon make short work of all that extra moisture.

Of course that waterlogged carpet may not have to be disposed of, and it maybe salvageable with the use of a water extraction vacuum cleaner. These extract the last remaining drops of water whilst at the same time giving the carpet a deep cleaning, ready to be dried by the use of a carpet drying machine and restored back to its former glory.
